Day One Hundred Forty Seven
Day One Hundred Forty Seven - "Tomera Fierce"
Daily lesson? Forgiveness.
Friday evening, beautiful golden late evening light, downtown Anchorage with the above high school senior. What could go wrong?
Well someone could come along and launch a flying tackle at the large (expensive) light you just bought next to you. Crunch.
Broken gear? Not great. Slightly innebreated man running away laughing? No so much fun.
But this is the time to let go, and make photographs even better than before.

Day One Hundred Forty Five
Day One Hundred Forty Five - "Les Femmes du Football"
Spontieneity is a great thing. Being able to work with changing plans, weather, attitudes, and ideas is a whole different beast.
Identifying beauty in every situation, and then capturing it can be a challenge. Having tangible proof to show success is one of the most rewarding feelings: that validation of hard work is why photography is so great, and why I keep coming back.
Day after day.

Day One Hundred Forty Three
Day One Hundred Forty Three - "Forward to the.. Future"
The future is.. well.. something that cannot be predicted. The mystery surrounding it is what keeps the hard work flowing and the dreams pouring, a waterfall with no end in sight.
Why not focus on the present.. the new trees, new leaves, warm weather, and the warm gooey sherbet that are midnight Alaskan sunsets.

Day One Hundred Forty One
Day One Forty One - "City Museum"
Awesome night of exploring caves, skate parks, beatnik shops, ten-story slides, rocket ships, buses, human-sized hamster wheels, and The Bale Out secondhand clothing store, which contributed the sweet threads for this shot.
All of this is housed in a warehouse building in downtown St. Louis.. all of this on a college visiting weekend.
While they picked up the bill, that is not even the sweetest part...

Day One Hundred Forty
Day One Hundred Forty - "The Professor Is In"
Meet Brannon. Professor-emeritus at the college of bad ass chair-in-the-street poses.
On the campus of Principia College in Elsah, Illinois where the days are full of classes, sun, humidity, Frisbee, and... spring. Green trees, grass, and the smell of thunderstorms wafting through the air.
I could get used to this.

Day One Hundred Thirty Six
Day One Hundred Thirty Six - "Traffic Stop"
Lots of exposure breakdancing in the street.. its supprisingly busy at twelve thirty at night. Its just too bad a cop couldn't have taken this picture, and stopped traffic for us.
Shooting in the street is a strange.. almost addicting thing. Surrounded by lights of all types, cars, sounds, and asphalt makes for purely spontanious action and imagery. Such limited time in a restricted space often leads to the most creative expression.. seen above and here

Day One Hundred Thirty Two
Day One Hundred Thirty Two - "Smells Like Patagonia"
A letter. From Patagonia.
Yes I could have contacted her in seconds over facebook... a letters worth builds as it travels longer distances, appreciating like money in a bank.
Email is typed, then sent at the speed of light to its destination. A letter is handwritten (no way) ... but just think of what goes into that: years of learning to write, the energy that goes into making paper and pen and envelope, then the transportation which carries it home.
All the way from Chile? Knowing their mail system, I'm doubly fortunate.
I have to apologize, blogger was down yesterday, severly hampering my ability to publish.. do not fear though, this photo was captured on day 132, which is what this project is all about.
Thank you all so much for keeping up! As always.. stay tuned!

Day One Hundred Thirty One
Day One Hundred Thirty One - {+13} Days of Summer
Summer is nice. Especially when 13 extra days are added on. For all those of you who are stuck in school.. with finals... well, try not to drool on your keyboard. For those of you who are learning, teaching, working, know that summer isn't a place or time.. it is a state of mind. Someplace easily reached, no matter the situation.

Day One Hundred Thirty
Day One Hundred Thirty - "Young Money Democrat"
Yup. Mr. Mitchel is an up and coming rap star.. you can see him and his band Aft3r in live performance here
I have to apologize for yesterdays photograph: It was my highschool graduation, and with four hundred and eighty graduates security was tight. I was able to smuggle my iphone in, but the DSLR proved to be too much. But with graduation brings hugs, cards, gifts.. namely lenses.
Keep your eyes peeled!

Day One Hundred Twenty Seven
Day One Hundred Twenty Seven "Left out in the Rain"Only if you have no respect for something like this Pentax. 35mm Film cameras might be dated, but they are far from out of style.
Those of you who are.. well I hope you can appreciate things of the past. Sure those schmancy digital photogs make sweet images, just don't forget where this all came from..
As Grandparents always say: "Be sure to visit!"

Day One Hundred Twenty Six
Day One Hundred Twenty Six - "Studebaker Surfing"
While yes, I am aware this is not anything close to the classic car.. my point is understood. These were classic cars, but they were driven off the bluff at Kincaid Park at the now infamous 'beach with all the old cars an junk'
There is good spelunking to be had, and there would have been better bonfires had it not been for a certian person who advised against it.
...
The wind.

Day One Hundred Twenty Five
Day One Hundred Twenty Five - "All of the Lights"
Just like that. Four years of symphonic. Here and gone. These guys are family. Or whatever spending hundreds of hours together get you. I say family.
This is one of the few things I'll miss about high school. And that is huge because you won't find miss and high school in any other high school speak.
"You'll miss it only when its gone"
It's an privilege to play music with close friends everyday. Something to appreciate once it has past.
And now that it has past.. you all will be seeing a lot more Kick Snare Hat!
